¡¡LingYun Tower is located in the west suburb of TaiCheng town.Built during the Ming Dynasty in 1613, it has more than 360 years of history .The tower is 48 meters high.The exterior is 7
storeys
,and the interior is actually 9 layers.The county magistrate Wang ShangXian constructed it in order to make a good job of the place location of a house construction in those years.
It is said that,
in order to build
this buddhist pagoda ,the ancestors of the residents who lived at the foot of this tower spent 3 years burning more than 400 million blocks of bricks ,then completed it 2 years later .
After liberation of China , the Taishan county People's Government allocated special funds in 1960 to strengthen the base of the tower , has paved the cement in the vicinity and whitewashed it at the same time.There is the lightning rod in the top , and the stairs inside the tower has been repaired .People can reach the top tower along the spiral stair.In 1979 , TaiShan county People's Government allocated enormous amounts of money again.The local cultural relic management committee organized to clean the sparrow excrement and the weeds on the tower's body ,and whitewashed the body of the tower.LingYun Tower recovered the original splendor.
